Arkansas Tops South Central State Rankings April 17, 2024

Site Selection magazine, a key publication for the economic development industry, ranked Arkansas No. 1 in its region for workforce development. Arkansas moved from second to first regionally in the South Central Region, which includes AL, KY, OK, LA, MS, TN, and TX. The Natural State has 51 counties participating in Work Ready Communities with more than 12 hundred supporting employers.

Job Training Site Gives Texarkana Campus Room to Grow March 15, 2023

The building, which is nearly 15,000 square feet, is a modern employment training center for students in the region and will house both the Arkansas High School Collegiate Academy and the Secondary Career and Technical Education Center, according to Casey Curtis, the college's communications coordinator. It also will function as a community meeting space and a site for business and industry training.

The new tool helps users set understand the skills they need to acquire to meet career and life goals. The currently employed can browse industry or other training while prospective hires can become familiar with a new field before applying to a position.

Texarkana Chamber of Commerce rewards students for obtaining the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification May 24, 2022

The Texarkana USA Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 2022 graduates who have obtained the ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC). The Chamber was honored to present platinum, gold, silver, and bronze medals to students in recognition of their hard work.

Texarkana certified as Competitive Community April 14, 2022

Gov. Asa Hutchison certified Texarkana as an Arkansas Competitive Community. Located in the participating Work Ready Community of Miller County, Texarkana is the first in Southwest Arkansas to earn the distinction, and one of only a few statewide.
