WAFB-TV showcases River Parishes Community College in the Work Ready Community at Ascension Parish. In an exclusive interview, Chancellor Quintin Taylor explained how RPCC played a major role in Donaldsonville securing automaker Hyundai’s first low-carbon steel plant in the nation.
The Greater New Orleans Infrastructure Partnership (GNOIP) – a collaborative effort led by Delgado Community College in partnership with Northshore Technical Community College, Nunez Community College, River Parishes Community College, and Greater New Orleans, Inc. – has been awarded $5.75 million by the Department of Labor’s Strengthening Community College initiative.
A collaboration between the Ascension Parish School Board and River Parishes Community College hopes to begin to reverse poverty trendlines. The college and school system have renovated a previously unused wing of Donaldsonville High School into a technical training center for the school's students and, in the evenings well after students leave, into a high school equivalency and job readiness training center for the city's adults.
