Genesee County’s ACT Work Ready Communities campaign has quickly hit its first milestone with support from various employers. Business signups surpassed 92, meeting the program’s goal. Now, local supporters are working with schools, workforce institutions, and other stakeholders to recruit candidates and companies for the next phase.

The Batavian published a column this week from Chris Suozzi of the Genesee County EDC with strong emphasis on opportunities for employers in their rapidly-growing Work Ready Communities initiative.

Governor Kathy Hochul and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer today announced significant progress towards the construction of the first phase of the $319 million Edwards Vacuum dry pump manufacturing facility, located at the Western New York Science & Technology Advanced Manufacturing Park (STAMP Mega-Site). Edwards Vacuum is a supporting NCRC employer.

Ecosystem leaders from Work Ready Communities that regularly engage high school students are encouraged to contact the local high school district for fee-waiver opportunities. The waivers cover the ACT test.
