ACT Work Ready Communities is just that when it comes to linking workforce development to education. Dr. Ruth R. Nichols ââ¬â Assistant Vice President for Community and Economic Development at Alcorn State University ââ¬â presented the layout of the program to representatives from Alcorn, Prentiss and Tishomingo counties at Northeast at Corinth.
ACT has recognized Randolph County as a "Certified Work Ready Community." Missouri is a national leader in manufacturing growth and new business creation, Gov. Nixon said. The Certified Workforce Ready initiative will help communities like Randolph County attract and train the skilled workers needed to meet the demands of our growing economy.
A Missouri Workforce Innovation Board member says the company is looking for many workers. "We're talking about a complete facility, from top to bottom," says Bubba Evansco with the Workforce Innovation Board of Southwest Missouri. ââ¬Â¦ Evansco says the new company wants employees who have a National Career Readiness certificate.
