Halifax and Northampton Counties employers, workforce professionals, economic developers, educators and elected officials are very excited about both counties becoming NCWorks Certified Work Ready Communities (CWRC).
The latest graduates from the College of the Canyons ââ¬ËFast Track program prove that with the right training, you can go from being unemployed to launching a new career in just seven weeks.
A two-year clock has started ticking for Sullivan County to become an ACT Work Ready Community, which would make it the first in Tennessee east of Nashville and give the county, in effect, certified workers.
On Thursday, April 28, the LEAD group met in Ellsinore and voted to work toward getting the entire region certified as workforce ready. Butler and Ripley counties have Certified Work Ready status and are in the process of having that status renewed. Wayne, Reynolds, and Carter counties will be working to obtain that status.
Dawn Calvert, president and CEO of Team Lorain County, said in the news release, that one of the first questions new industry prospects ask is Do you have an available qualified workforce? Because Lorain County is an ACT Work Ready Community, it will have data to provide to a prospective business showing its workforces level of accomplishment.
Tom Green County Judge Steve Floyd kicked off the county's Work Ready Community Initiative on Thursday with some economic truths. "The public and private sectors share many things ââ¬â one of them is the workforce," he said. "The future of Tom Green County is as good as its workforce."
The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced on Thursday, May 5 that Dunklin County has achieved designation as a Certified Work Ready Community (CWRC).
